Music Ecademy is an excellent resource for remote and distance learning. Everything is self-directed and each student has an individual login meaning students can work at their own pace.
SET WEEKLY TASKS
The Music Ecademy courses are broken down into bite-sized sections for students to work through. Try setting a section to be completed per week.
For example – NCEA Level 1 comprises of 16 sections. You could assign one or two sections per week, depending on how much work you would like your students to complete.
ASSESSMENT TOOL
Formative assessment – you can use Music Ecademy as a formative assessment tool. It is great for this as students are continuously tested on what they have learnt throughout the programme. This allows teachers to better gauge their students’ comprehension of the concepts.
Summative assessment – use the final tests to assess your students’ progress and what they have learnt at the end of the term or the year.
Try asking students to take the final tests under exam conditions. You can then view their quiz attempts and grades. For more information on this see the article on quiz results.
